My Housemates.

Can you believe it? It’s been six months since my life has completely changed for the better. This time in April, myself, Steph and Karl had just moved into our beautiful new home, back then, I would never have imagined my life would be on the path it is now.

I have been on many amazing adventures, taken many wonderful holidays and have just felt an overall remarkable change in my attitude and positivity.

If you asked me a few years ago, if I knew where my life was going to lead, I undoubtedly wouldn’t have told you my journey took me here.

Karl and Steph have pushed me to do more in my life, then anyone else has ever done in my past, I don’t know what I would have done without them; I wouldn’t have achieved half of what I have, that’s for sure.

When Karl walked into my life I honestly thought I had witnessed the meeting of my long lost brother, not just because people assume we are, based on the fact we look like each other, (not sure if we should take that as a compliment Karl, but I’m going to,) but also because we are so similar sometimes, it usually ends with a good bit of competition. If you ask me, I always come out the winner, if you ask him, he’ll lie; and say he’s usually the best at anything we do, but all joking aside, we might enjoy winding each other up all the time, and this might lead to some heated debates and arguments, but no matter what, I’ll always love him, and he will always be a massive part of my life. I don’t know if I’ve said it enough, but he has allowed me to gain so much confidence in what I do. He allowed me to find what I love doing, by letting me tag along in what he does, and if you ever get to witness his talent, I’m sure you will be as amazed as I am, because in all honesty, I don’t think there is anyone out there, who can do it better.

Now, before his head gets too big, Steph definitely matches a good chunk of his gifts, along with bringing some of her own to the table; these talents she has also shared with me. I have been burnt by many people in my life and I’m so happy Steph has been able to break down my walls, because without her I don’t know if I would have survived. Love is not a strong enough word to describe what I feel for this woman! When people say soulmate, I don’t think they understand it fully, because I have found my soulmate in my best friend. Along with Karl, she has driven me to do so much in my life and has supported me with everything I do, I am one of her biggest fans, and I hope she is one of mine, even though I have a long way to go before I could live up to her capabilities. I thank her every day for being there for me when I need it, and I will always be there for her.

I know people must get annoyed with me mushing over my friends all the time, but when you have people that have influenced your life so much, in such a positive light, I’m sure you would do the same. The biggest challenge I have found is to know when to remove the negativity from my life. People that feel the need to bring you down seem to make you think you owe them something, they take control over your thoughts and feelings without you noticing it, and before you know it, you have no power over your own life.

People that truly love you, will give you the harsh truths when you need them, they’ll support you, not out of some obligation, but because those people generally want the best for you. You can tell these people apart from the rest, because when you try and give back, even when they need it, they will refuse it, because they weren’t trying to get something out of you, they just wanted to help improve your life for the better.

I’m so thankful that Karl and Steph have entered my life and they have been able to certainly fulfil that category, and I hope I have been able to do the same for them!

So, here’s to many more days, months and years in our magnificent home, here’s to more laughs, even tears as we help each other through the hard times, here’s to more drinks, passion and debates, here’s to game nights and random car rides, here’s to pushing each other to achieve everything we all deserve, here’s to bettering ourselves, to supporting each other, and here’s to just living the best lives we can!
